Bryan Burkhart is Design Director at modernhouse design + editorial. His recent design engagements include Apple, Adaptive Path, IDEO, TicketFly, Wesabe, and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Currently Burkhart is designing both print and in touch screen environments at Gensler in San Francisco. Prior to Gensler, Burkhart was Creative Director (and co-founder) of Blurb.com, a creative publishing service that allows anyone to make their own book. Previously, Burkhart was a senior designer at Apple where he worked with the Aperture development team (enabling photographers to publish their work in hardcover book form), iWork (including Keynote + Pages Software) and also with the Apple retail team, designing graphics for international Apple product launches. Burkhart was the co-author and designer of the books “Prefab,” “Airstream: The History of the Land Yacht,” “Trailer Travel: A Visual History of Mobile America,” and “Spa.” His previous design clients also include Michelle Kaufmann, Dwell magazine, Nokia, Samsung, Airstream, Volkswagen, Sony, Atom Films, Taschen, Chronicle Books, and Gibbs Smith, Publisher. Burkhart studied graphic design at the California College of Arts, film at New York University, and received his BA with honors in sculpture and photography from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
