Airstream Postcard Box

Released at the same time as the Airstream Book, we designed a collectable set of 40 postcards packaged in a metallic skinned cigar box. These postcards contained 40 images from the Airstream archives that we thought best represented the history and spirit of adventure of the Airstream.

Airstream, The History of the Land Yacht was first published by Chronicle Books in February, 2000. We firmly believe this book had everything to do with elevating the publics interest of this classic trailer, and kicked off the massive Airstream revival that followed. This project was a fantastic opportunity to put Airstream and its founder, Wally Byam firmly in the middle of a larger international design timeline. Our goal was to raise the status of the Airstream as an American design icon.

The book measures: 9.5×10.75 inches; 144 pages. Airstream—equal parts travelogue, cultural history, and biography of Wally Byam, Airstream’s charismatic inventor—celebrates the trailer’s enduring appeal as an icon of simple, aerodynamic living. Amazing photographs from the Airstream archives document this nomad’s significant place in the history of design, from its streamlined origins to its current vogue.

Furniture Series

I have making and fabricating objects in my blood, and was obsessed with designing furniture prototypes and fabricating them in our studio /shop. Today I spend more time designing and having components fabricated for my projects like a kit of parts. Here are some our designs:
